Getting Started - Define the Site

Walkthrough for defining roof faces, equipment locations, weather data, site info, and more

After Creating a Project, you’ll need to define the site before beginning your design.

For preliminary sales designs

1. Trace Roof Faces or Import 3D Roof Model

   1. The only necessary roof properties for sales designs are the azimuth and slope.

2. Specify the street location in the Site Equipment step

3. Start Designing the System!

For permit packages

1. Specify roof faces with one of the two methods:

   • Import 3D Roof Model

   • Use the Trace Functions

     • Familiarize yourself with Smart Guides

     • Trace Roof Outline

     • Trace a Roof Face

     • Add Obstructions

2. Specify where the Main Service Panel and more are located by adding Site Equipment.

3. Specify the wind speed and more by completing Weather Data.

4. Specify the AHJ, utility and more by completing Site Info.

5. Start Designing the System!
